In 1946, Solomon Kropf launched a brand new business to sell mobile homes. By the 1960s, sales included high-end, custom mobile homes and modulars, which led to the establishment of Kropf’s first retail sale lot in Sarasota, Florida in 1964.
By the mid-1970s, in addition to mobile homes and RV sales, our Florida lot saw the introduction of the park model market. Soon enough we were manufacturing our own brand out of Goshen, Indiana.
Following Solomon Kropf’s 1976 retirement, sons Robert and Vernon became the new owners. While Vern oversaw the Florida location, Robert oversaw the manufacturing in Indiana and Robert’s son, Donald, and son-in-law, Curt Yoder, joined the manufacturing in Indiana.
Increased demands in the park model market prompted the suspension of mobile homes and modulars in the early 1980s. Even after a few years offering travel trailers and fifth wheels in our product line, the focus had completely shifted to park models.
